<p>Most Fans have several speeds and oscillate. D had a small desk top model; which wasn’t very efficient. I would recommend a floor fan – they tend to be about 3 to 4 feet tall.</p>
<p>As an alternative, you might just wait until your kid gets to New Haven. In four years, I don’t recall any September or early Spring to be so oppressively hot that a fan was a necessity.</p>
