I was just wondering about the dorm room conditions at Andover, Exeter, Choate and L'ville.

I applied for Andover, Exeter, Choate, L'ville and I did spectacularly on my Choate & L'ville interviews, and I'm pretty confident about the others. In addition, I have a really solid resume so I'm optimistic about admissions.

How are the dorms? I've heard some of L'ville weren't all that great, and the Abbot dorms were amazing and Andover. Choate I heard was mixed and Exeter I'm not sure.

Can a freshman get into Abbot at Andover, with enough persuasion to the admissions faculty?

Persuasion has nothing to do with it (though way back when I applied, you could put a preference for your cluster). Most of the Andover dorms are pretty nice. The thing about Abbot dorms is that, with 1 notable exception, they’re small student-wise. What I consider the nicest dorm only houses 5 students. If you want the instant camaraderie of an entire wing of a dorm (larger than 5 students usually), larger dorms, such as those in Pine Knoll are nice. The other disadvantage of Abbot is its location on campus. Most of the rooms are nice, though. Not massive, but nice.

Re: l’ville i went to a soccer camp for three weeks at l’ville and the campus is rather nice but the dorms which i stayed in ( i think they are the freshman dorms) were terrible soooooo small and cramped. just hope you get a triple cause those were big at least they look nice from the outside. also the food a l’ville is terrible. but again this says nothing about the wonderful education they provide.

Actually I thought the Lawrenceville food was okay. Sure, it probably gets repetitious as the year goes on (mostly the same choices every time I went there) but there is a ton of variety and nothing tastes bad.
I think L’ville rooms are okay too. Honestly, there’s nothing bad about them – it’s just that there’s nothing particularly good about them either. I thought it was fine, actually a bit cozy once you put your personal touch in it.
