Dorm selection for Summer B and Fall

If I choose to go to UF I will entering probably in Summer B and was wondering what dorms are best for freshman for Summer B and Fall - advice appreciated!

A few of my older friends suggested Springs- if you want to be where the athletes are. Other than that they say murphree and beaty are good and Lakeside is the newest and nicest, but very far.

is murphree close to classes?

When did you sign up for housing? if you’re just doing it now from what I understand you’ll be lucky if you dont get stuck in one that doesn’t have AC.

I signed up for it a long time ago

preferences are not due until 5/1 correct?

could someone please tell/show me what a two room triple is?

I have yet to do my housing. Everytime I log on i cant decide where to stay…even after visiting. Several friends say that the doorms that claim to be without air, in fact have window units instead of central ac.

I currently go to UF as a freshman and I live in Rawlings. It’s great. If just depends on what you’re looking for. Broward and Rawlings are definitely the most social as well as the best location. No class is more than a five minute walk from her for me. The dining hall is also a 2 minute walk and athletic courts are right behind our dorm. We also have a pool. If you are looking for the nicest dorms, you should try for springs or lakeside. They are nice but they are not very social. Murphree is a good location but is not close to food. The Simpson/Graham area is also fairly convenient but again not quite as social as the broward area. Also I’m not sure if it matters to you or not but some dorms are window AC whereas some are central AC.
