Dorm Talk

Hey user3725, what apartment are you staying at and about how much does it cost a month or semester?

I’m in a leased 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment with 2 of my cousins.

Rent is REALLY cheap, and the place is better than what I’ve seen @ College Station. We split rent, utilities, and other crap. Comes out to like $4-500 a month

Woah. That is really cheap. Just wondering in case I consider not staying in the crappy dorms…

I was looking at Traditions, and they said that they will refund your apartment deposit if you decide to stay there…it’s NICE! plus they give you some discounts, a meal plan etc. its only about $500 more than Clements when you include the benefits…oh and Tradition rooms have a fridge, microwave, and an entertainment system

We toured Traditions. Of the three off campus dorms, we put Traditions in 3rd place but still way ahead of any on campus dorm. It is very convenient to campus, you should be happy there.

I’m getting a place over at Reveille Ranch. Fully furnished, and all I have to pay is electric. About $550 a month. Anyone been over there? I live out of state so I’m renting before seeing. Reviews would be helpful!

I live in Reveille Ranch last year, was a pretty cool place to stay at. Nothing really special about it… Pretty live pool parties every thursday.

Are the energy cards really sucky? I’ve read some bad things about it, but it looks nice online.

They are good and bad I guess. You just go pay for however much money you want on your card at a gas station <5 mins away driving, then swipe it on a card reader inside your apartment. That can be a* little* inconvenient. It is a nice way to evenly split the electricity bill with your roommate(s) though (i.e. you pay 50, then they pay 50, etc.)

How long would $50 last you?
