Dorm Tips

Which is the best dorm to live in? I love to party and I want to get to know a lot of people. I've heard that Zura is disgusting. Is that really true?

I am wondering if it’s fun living in the residence halls during summer?
I am a visting student from Germany and I really want to get to know many nice people. Actually I am in Berkeley right now and social life for international students is mostly in the residence halls… is this the same in San Diego or is living in Pacific Beach more fun?

If you’re over 21, Pacific Beach is where it’s at.

For freshmen the dorms are definitely a must if it’s possible, and I even knew a few transfers that loved living in the dorms.

Cuicacalli is the nicest, but some people have trouble branching out of their suites (8 people or so) to meet more people. It depends on what you’re involved in on campus.

Zura is a far cry from Cuic, but you get the traditional dorm-floor experience. I would try for one of these two. If you’re looking to meet a ton of people and party a lot though, join a sorority for sure! It is far above and beyond the best way to meet tons of people and have a great time doing it, and there’s really nothing comparable.
