Dorming at csusm is 9000 so 900 per month and my parents keep asking me how are they going to pay for all this, and I don't know how to answer their questions. Of course, I am going to work and stuff but I just don't know how to explain it to them that it is possible for me to go attend csusm for the fall. I'm getting 7000 grant money 2000 loan unsub 3500 sub loan.

Is this San Marcos?

I don’t think it’s possible for you to dorm there. How will you eat? See the current estimate of total fees: https://www.csusm.edu/finaid/cost/1415resident.html

If your parents can’t afford $24,000, YOU can’t afford it. The reason you don’t know how to answer their questions is because you have not sat down with them and truly added up all of the costs-$24,000. You got $12500. (By the way, those loans will be in your name and some of the payments are due while you are going to school!)

How much of that “awarded” money has to go to tuition?

Where are you working that you can make $9000 per year while going to school?

We live in Northern San Diego County and my college-aged daughter and her friends could NOT find summer jobs. Their rents at their colleges are a LOT cheaper but they couldn’t find jobs.

How will you pay your dorm fees of ½ of the $9000 upfront, in cash? The HOUSING office will ask for their money right away. Where are you going to get it?
