Dorms and Student Support

Hey,

I would like to know as much information as possible before committing to Columbia through Early Decision(Not that the decision to do so will necessarily mean that I would be accepted). I saw in a number of places that undergraduates complain about the quality of housing and the bureaucracy of the school. Are these allegations actually true? Furthermore, the apparent lack of student support and Alumni support(once again these are assumptions based on my hunts through internet forums) bugs me. Please shed light on these matters! Thank you :)

Don’t expect the luxuries of the best housing that Harvard and Yale offers. After all, Columbia is in New York. The flip-side, at least in theory, is that NYC is at your beck and disposal.

The bureaucracy has not affected me much, and if you are diligent and wily, it should not inhibit you.

I’m not sure what I feel for Columbia. I would not sing about my eternal love for it nor would I rant about it on the Internet. If I could attend any college, I think that I would choose Columbia again.
