So I was just wondering how all the dorms are for all the students (Freshmen to Seniors)?

Like are they clean/nice? I've heard some have wooden flooring and have gorgeous architecture (well obviously, it's Duke). But how are the bathrooms? Are there open showers/clean bathrooms? I'm just wondering.

And are the rooms spacious relatively?

Oh, and how is the Theater Scene at Duke? Is it possible to be a Pre-Med and Major in something like Psychology but still be heavily involved in Theater? Are there also small improv groups/comedy clubs? :)

Can someone pleasee answer these questions? :)

everyone has their own concept of “clean” and “nice,” just come visit and I’m sure someone will let you have a look at a bathroom. there is also a great variation in room size, it’s pretty random. i don’t know much about the theater scene but it’s of course possible to take the pre-med classes and be a psych major and be involved in whatever you want in addition to that, why not? DUI is the main inprov group on campus but there are a couple.

The showers all have curtains, if that’s what you’re asking… as for the bathrooms, they tend to be fairly clean most of the time, but since housekeeping only cleans them on weekdays, they can get somewhat dirty over the weekend (at least the guys’ bathroom).

The rooms in Blackwell and Randolph are tiny. The rooms in Belltower and Gilbert-Addoms are huge. I haven’t spent enough time in the other dorms to judge them precisely, but I think they all fall somewhere in between the two extremes.

Your ability to be a premed and be involved in Theater will depend on your time management. It’s definitely doable, and plenty of Duke students do extracurriculars on top of rigorous courses, but you have to have good study habits.
