Okay, so I know there's probably not one that's "better" than the other, but what are the differences? Is there one that's better suited to a certain type of person etc.? I'm really confused about the whole dorm thing, so anyone who knows anything about it, any help would be appreciated! :)
Thanks!

Traditional style is your typical tiny room with barely enough room for beds and desks and other necessities. Apartment style ones are about the same but have private bathrooms. :)

Haha, I’m obviously biased and leaning towards the apartment style ones but the downside is that they cost more and upperclassmen have priority so you may not be able to get it.

Actually at NYU all dorms have their own private bathrooms and Freshman do not compete with upperclassman for dorms as Freshman have their own set of dorms, although I think only one is Freshman dorm apartment style.

I can’t, however, say anything about size difference between Traditional and apartment.

They all have private bathrooms? I visited and I remember seeing one with a private bathroom but the guide told me it was an “apartment styled one”…

I am 100% sure that every room has a private bathroom, Traditional and Apartment style.

Yeah, I’m looking at their housing site right now and you’re right. My tour guide wasn’t too clear about that I guess…

Kitchens are a must…thank God apartment style is available to freshmen.

ALL have private bathrooms. I am an alumna as well as a NYU parent.

There is one apartment style dorm for freshmen this August - Third Avenue North!
