Dorms at Emory

How would you rate the dorms? Also, are the restrooms communal or suite-style?

It depends on what year you are. As a first year, the restrooms are communal with parts of each floor sharing on bathroom. As a second year, you live in suit-style rooms where you typically share a restroom between four people or have one restroom for your apartment (2 people). As a third and fourth year student you live in the Clairmont apartments and share it with four people with two restrooms.

The dorms are nice. Most of the dorms that first years live in are new (built within the last two years) and there’s not much more you could ask for.

I’ve read through every single visitor report on this site about Emory, and they have all spoken about how great the dorms are.

Also I don’t know if you received your acceptance letter in the mail yet, but it gives you a link to download LearnLink which is Emory’s online student service thing…you can chat to current students or prospective students and teachers, as well as the class of 2013. It also has a link to various deals, free antivirus, and virtual tours of dorm rooms.

I’d suggest downloading it asap and checking it out.

in the acceptance letter, it says housing info should be sent in early april, anybody has received it yet?

The best (and newest) freshmen dorms are Few/Evans and New Turman. These buildings have a program they are associated with, so you’ll have to write an essay to be considered, but it’s worth it.

NEw Turman? is that the same as Turman?

^^

crunkk, technically “New Turman” is … or will be … “Turman”, in that the “old” Turman will not be used after this semester for housing, unless they the Housing administration folks change their minds. The New Turman hall is what it typically is known as on campus, and it was opened year before last I believe.

essay needed?? but if it’s worth it, then…

and btw, is the essay prompt going to be in the “housing info” that i suppose to get?? where can i know more about this essay??

thanks! and sorry for the tedious question :)

These dorms are available to people who are committed to a) citizenship or b) an eco-friendly world.

Atleast, those are what the essays are on.

Hilsa lets dorm together. They never have to know.

Let’s do it Cody! I can pull off being a guy… except for having a few obvious… things. lulz.

hahaha. unfortunately. use tape!
