i was kinda wondering the same thing as sobe55...someone told me that springs/beaty/lakeside were more like for upperclassmen...does that mean like upperclassmen want them so they get the selection, or just upperclassmen tend to live there?

Buckman is NOT that bad. When I tell people Buckman and Thomas have no AC, there is a look of horror on their face. The only months that are really back in B/T is August, September, and towards the end of April. The rest of the time it is pretty good to live in B/T. The room are A LOT bigger in sections A and E and the singles in B,C,D are really good. The only students I don't recommend coming to B/T are people with allergies. B/T is not very social because of how its set-up. Upperclassmen tend to stay there because its quiet, single rooms, and a lot cheaper than the other dorms. Freshmen usually get B/T because they had a late housing agreement, but some end up liking it and requesting it for another year. Also people like B/T because its close to the Chemistry Building, Library, and many of the classes.

Springs has all the athletes. I wouldn't like to live with the football players because I heard they can be "uncivilized." Further from classes. You share a bathroom with your roommate and two other people. The closets are nice. Carpeted rooms. The hallways feel like prison to me. Parking is really bad for freshmen. Not too social. Close to sporting places. Close to frat row. Bathrooms cleaned once a week.

Beaty is ok for freshmen. Parking is much better for freshmen over there. The bedrooms are really small. Most residents tend to buck beds so they have more space. Each RA has about 62 residents. Convenience store on the ground level. A lot closer to freshmen classes than the other two. Tennis, basketball, and skating court across the street. Elevator is slow. Semi-social environment.

Lakeside is too far away for me to even consider it. Parking is ok. Not very social unless you have a really, really involved RA. Take some time to get to classes, because buses might be full. Disconnected from the main campus. Would recommend a car if you live there. Bathrooms cleaned once a week.

I would also consider murphree hall. You have the suite type feel. There is a sink in the back room. There is a door between the two rooms. You share a bathroom with 4-9 people. The rooms are pretty big. Very close to classes. Bathroom cleaned everyday (except weekends and during natural disasters). Parking for freshmen is impossible.

and i believe this would be your typical standard double room that you would find in broward and such...(dont be detered by the dancing caucasians)

Yeah the first video is beaty. Usually people in beaty bunk the beds so they have more space. The second video is how broward would look like, but thats that not broward (broward has carpet). Its more like jennings and graham area but all look basically the same inside.

I got accepted ED but I want to switch one of my choices for summer B housing? If i do so will it affect the priority i have over others for summer housing?

I heard (from a facebook group) that they are probably giving everyone their second choice this year and grouping a lot of minorities together? I know this sounds far-fetched but do you know if there is any truth to this(I highly doubt there is)?

The facebook people have no clue what they are talking about. The assignments offices does not have the time to sort our people like that. Why you think they don't have roommate preferences like other schools?

--> I think suites have walls separating the two rooms while doubles are wide open.
