Dorms for an exchange term

Hello, I will be attending BU for a semester as an exchange student, well next semester as a matter of fact and would like to stay on-campus.
I don’t want to be alone really so I would like to be in a dorm where I can make friends. However in my home university I am in my senior year and was wondering would it be weird to stay at Warren or West?
Although I really would like a more private bathroom I am really anxious about spending a whole semester alone.

Which dorm would you recommend?

In your case, I would not suggest that you stay in Warren or West. West- possibly if you want to be near the Fitness Center. However, I still feel that you may want to be with Upper Classmen. Are you on an Exchange Program with a group? If so, they may put the group of you together. Have you checked into some of the Specialty Housing for people with common interests. A lot of this type of housing is located on Bay State which are converted apartments/housing. Check with Residential Life and they may be able to help you identify what and where you may want to live.

I agree with the poster above. Warren and West mostly consist of freshman and some sophomores. While those dorms are good for meeting people, the crowd may be a little young for you. Also, there are nicer accomodations elsewhere; the rooms in Warren & West are very small. Have you looked at Miles or the brownstones on Bay State Road? I understand your concern about being alone; however, there are so many students; with any effort, you WILL meet a lot of interesting people.
Good luck!

Thank you for your answers, you are right, they may be too young for me.
Well, I did check out other dorms and frankly I don’t think I will have much of a chance, seeing that they will probably put me in an empty space that remains. Although all seems nice, I liked Kilachand Hall tooi but just a quick question, I am particularly afraid of roaches and mice, where should I opt for if I want to stay away from them?

I didn’t have roaches or mice when I attended BU. However, my friends who lived in some of the student apartments had issues with roaches. My feeling is that if you keep your room clean and not leave food around, that you shouldn’t have any problems in your dorm.
