Dorms... HELP

Hi. I’m an incoming freshman
I honestly can’t share a bathroom with 30+ people so I’m hoping to get a suite or a mini-suite.
What are the pros and cons about these suites other than the price. (Price is not my concern atm)
Thank you!

Oh plus, Foothill vs. Clark Kerr. What do you think?

Off-campus housing is available, just a consideration (https://och.berkeley.edu/). Considering a triple can cost 13,000 a 1200 a month apartment might not be so bad.

^ I would strongly advise against loving outside of the dorms freshman year.

I don’t know much about mini-suites in the units, but I do recommend foothill:

Pros:

  • The suite atmosphere lets you get to know your suitemates better than you could on a floor of 40.
  • There’s generally more space, with both larger rooms and more common areas (that is, one common room for 8 people, as opposed to 3 shared between a lot of people).
  • The bathroom situation.
  • People say the food is better.

Pros or cons depending on your viewpoint:

  • If you’re doing science or engineering, a pro is that it’s near those buildings. If you’re not, a con is that it’s further away from everything else.
  • If you like greek life, then foothill is unfortunately a bit further away. If you don’t like greek life, then you might prefer foothill to the somewhat crazier atmosphere of the units.
  • And at the risk of going against what seems to be conventional student wisdom, I think northside / gourmet ghetto is a much nicer area to live than southside. But that’s a matter of opinion.
  • It’s on a hill. Pro: you will get nice calves. Con: you will get them by climbing a hill a lot.
