Dorms, misc

Just accepted to LSA. I heard the dorms are decent but vary in size, quality and atmosphere. The dorms looked fair on the website. I am not too familiar with the Residence College either.

I am also contemplating GWU (honors), Northwestern and Emory for a poli sci major.

Any input?

Generally kinda small. Most RC dorms are great though.

Are they in decent condition or are they the old bare floor cinder block wall type from the 60s and 70s?

It really depends on the dorm. They're closing down the nastiest one (MoJo), and the other ones on the hill have different size rooms. The RC is in East Quad and that's not bad at all.

cambridge house is an old hotel plus it's in central campus connected to the union. try and get in there if u can, but it's mostly upperclassmen

Any other suggestions? Looking for a good environment, not too wild and respectable dorms. I guess proximity to classes would be a +.

South quad, west quad, then east quad. Hill (stockwell, couzens, alice lloyd, markley, etc.) is ok for a backup. I have seen no cinder blocks. My room came with tile flooring but carpeting comes cheap and makes everything look sexy. I'm a pretty big fan of the dorms here.
