I love Quinnipiac, but am not excited about the dorm situation. From what I have been told, there isn't enough housing and the students cram like sardines with 3 - 4 kids in a small room. That is awesome if you all get along, but terrible if you are trying to study, or even relax, and your roomate has their girlfriend sleeping there every night. It also isn't good if several of your roomates are big party people. You can't get any work done. I know such is college life, however, I heard that QU is especially bad with this because they are rooms that are very small. Is there a current student or parent out there that can shed some light on this or give advice in the dorm selection process for Freshmen? Thank you so much.

My daughter is currently a freshman at QU. She lucked out and is in one of the suites. I believe there are at least 2 suite buildings. Her suite has 8 girls with 2 in each of the 4 bedrooms. Her room is very small to me but she doesn’t seem to think it’s a problem. Her bed is lofted and almost all her stuff in stored under her bed. A few of her good friends are in both the double and quad dorms and they also don’t believe they’re too small. If my daughter needs it to be quiet then she’ll go to the library which is open 24 hours. Don’t let the dorm size discourage you from attending there because we didn’t notice any large dorm rooms on any college campus tour. Look on the bright side… have you checked out the apartments on York Hill for the juniors and seniors? Talk about nice housing!

Thank you. Very helpful and encouraging!
