Where is everyone thinking of dorming next year? I'm thinking either UHall of 3rd North!

Hey,

So is it official that UHall is open to freshmen next year? If so, my top three would be 3rdN, Founders, and UHall

Excited to see you at NYU!

UHALL is definitely a freshman dorm!
Really exciting (:

See you there!

Hey,
do you know whether the electricity and gas fees are included in the housing rates?

Are there any types of rooms that has a kitchen isolated from the living room and the bedroom?

Any feedbacks would be appreciated.

My top 3 are Hayden, Founders and Goddard!

I got my list from my sister and her boyfriend who both went to NYU.

I want Founders, 3rd North, and maybe Weinstein?

It might be 3rd North?

Thanks! Already got the information.

It seems to me that not many students like rooms in 3rd North. Anyone knows why?

Rubin. What can I say, I’m poor. :(

Yeah same here. I am housing in Rubin :)

Susannesj - Actually a majority of the people I’ve asked are interested in Third Avenue North. They really like the big rooms.

If I have $16000 allocated towards dorm/food costs per year, where would be the best (financially) to stay?

The housing forms keep emphasizing the fact that we shouldn’t start on the housing apps until we receive specific information and it’s starting to scare me a little. By specific information, they just mean an email telling us that the housing forms are now open to us, right?

Yes. Once you get the email that tells you about the app, then you can start it.

Yea, it took them like 3 days after I accepted the admissions offer for NYU to send me the e-mail to apply for housing.

The cheapest dorm is the triple in Rubin which is around $7,000, which hopefully i will be able to get. Can anyone tell me if the room and board includes a meal plan, and if not, hat are the meal plan options?

Room cost and meal plan cost are separate charges. See these links for meal plan info (not updated yet for 2012/2013) rates. Note that all freshman are required to have a minimum meal plan. Note that all meal plans allow you to eat in any dining hall, NOT just where you live.

Heyy, does anyone know if there are any deposit waivers for enrollment and/or housing???
Thanks!

There aren’t any deposit waivers. I called and spoke to someone in the FA office, Undergrad. Admin. Office, Registrars Office, etc. All the can do is extend your deadline, which you can do by calling the Undergrad. Admin. Office and talking to your counselor.

What do people mean when they say Hayden is the “party dorm?” How crazy does things get? Or is it just that “quiet dorms” like Founders are simply unsocial?
