Dorms

I got my email acceptance to bing on Thursday and I got my letter in the mail yesterday. I'm definitely attending bing in the fall as a transfer student from SUNY Oneonta and ill be a sophomore. First I was just wondering, about how long it would take until I can fill out housing forms after paying my deposit. Second I was wondering which dorms are best for new transfer students to live in. Just by looking at pictures and hearing things about the dorms from friends at binghamton, I really want to live in Dickinson, mountain view, or newing. Also because they're really nice and new. But I also want to feel comfortable in the community I'm in so if anyone has any advice/suggestions about which community I should live in, please let me know! Also how does it work with picking out a roommate if I do random. Does the school do a good job at matching people if they take a questionnaire or should I pick a roommate? Thanks!

Hey Sam, I’m in a similar situation as you are. I’ve done a lot of research by myself and emailed the university a couple times. Also check out one of my thread about the dorms it may help.

April 16th is the date that I was told that new students will be able to register for housing.

I bet Mountainview is going to be very difficult to get in because it is the most popular.

As for roommate selection, you fill that out when you register for housing.

Please be aware that, as a transfer, you may be placed in the apartments. They often have space available there so some transfers end up there no matter what. Just be aware that this can happen. Best part is: singles!
