<p>You can request a single. They ask you your preferences like would you like a double, quad, etc. and dorms are assigned that way. You do not get to request a specific dorm. Of course, if you are in one of the residential colleges or substance-free housing, you will live in the dorms where those programs are located, so if you sign up for one, you will basically know where you will be assigned ahead of time.</p>
