Dorms

Do dorms have full kitchens in them? Specifically at Episcopal...

Most have microwaves and refrigerators, but if you mean a full blown kitchen, with stoves and dishwashers, no, I wouldn’t expect it.

It totally varies by school, and even schools with dorm kitchens will not have them in every dorm. Plan on, at most, a refrigerator and a microwave.

I was impressed by the kitchen in the dorm I saw at NMH.

NMH just has the best stuff related to food. Period.

NMH knows food.

Yup, NMH is probably the best example of a dorm with a full kitchen.

And by the Law of Syllogism, NMH knows teenagers.

OK, I realize that English is not my first language, but I had to look up “syllogism.” Back to studying for the AP Psych exam tomorrow.

Ugh. Good luck!

no there are stoves in the ones ive been in.

Some have relatively full kitchens (microwave, full-size refrigerator, stove, sink), while others simply have a coffee pot, microwave, sink, and fridge.

i dont see the point of having a full kitchen i mean the dining hall gives you all the food you need. I guess once ina while i can see the use though

I love cooking! I would love to be able to cook in my free time.

Sometimes people like to have a meal from home, or they want to stay in the dorm and study, or they get hungry, or they want to have a dorm party. Plenty of uses.

If you trust your dormmates you can store snacks in the fridge. :)

@skieurope, I think someone put together that you go to Andover. If that is true, will you tell us how Andover deals with AP classes and exams. I think I heard that both Andover and Exeter abandoned offering AP classes, but still allow students to sit for the AP exams. How well does the syllabus align with what is covered on the AP? Do students typically have to do a lot of outside preparation?

TRUST NO ONE WITH FOOD

Especially me. :P
