All right, so I just recently visited the dorms, and the one I saw was one of the ones on Hinman. It wasn't the best dorm, and the rooms were kinda small, and the building in general was pretty old....

most of the south campus dorms are kindof old, i suppose. depends on which one you were at. If you were at 1835 hinman, then the rooms are generally pretty small there.

Hinman, CRC, and PARC probably have some of the smallest rooms on campus. If you want a single Plex is probably a good bet. Moderate sized room. Otherwise stick with a double. The doubles are mostly a pretty decent size.

Really? That's interesting.
Well, it looks like you're stuck with the dinky singles if you insist on one then. Although I've heard Slivka's are nice. Never been in one myself.

i don't think freshmen are allowed in any of the singles this year. but anyway, if you want to be on south campus, Allison's rooms are some of the biggest, and the facilities are pretty decent.

I went on the NW website dorm page... They had opinions on all the dorms from students... is the whole.. rat problem in Allison a rumor? or is there some truth in that? Didn't want to jump to any hasty conclusions... although the dorm page was on the official NW website...

I believe Hinman, PARC, and CRC were all made around the same time and are pretty similar. Willard, Allison, and Chapin are older dorms on south campus with bigger rooms. (FYI, Chapin has the biggest rooms on campus). :)
