I was wondering how the dorms are in Vassar. I have visited a few colleges, and i have seen great dorms, horrible dorms, and everything in between. First off, are the rooms big? Are they arranged by suite or floor (ie, common bathroom for entire floor)? I would love to hear any other info. Thank u so much guyz and galz.

The answer to this is basically that there is no answer. Rooms vary incredibly in size. My room is so small that my roommate and I cannot debunk our beds - however, we find it cozy, and we like it. Two doors down from me, there is a three-room triple, meaning each person has a single, and the central room is quite spacious. Some of the rooms in Strong are huge; notoriously, Jewett has super-small dorms. The Noyes doubles are large, and you can have a great deal of privacy. It really depends. My room is technically the same size as many other rooms, but because the building is so old, each room is just a little different. I enjoy this, it makes it quirky, but I know that not everyone would appreciate it. There are usually a few bathrooms per floor - two per floor in my dorm, as well as another one in our "annex." Bathrooms get cleaned daily (I think, maybe it's every other), and mine is usually clean - as with rooms, the quality of bathrooms can vary. They're always more than decent, but Jewett which was remodeled recently has super nice ones.

Even if you get into a small room, the dorms are all great. Each dorm has an MPR (multi-purpose room), a parlor, and usually a pool table and a couple of communal televisions, as well as some vending machines tucked away somewhere. I rarely study in my dorm room, I like the balcony that is over our MPR, or my friend's room which is huge. So, I wouldn't worry about it, it's just luck in the end!
