heyy. just wondering.. are all the dorms air-conditioned? and.. do you get to choose your roommates?

Everything is air-conditioned there. Once you're assigned your residential college you will be sent a questionaire. Don't just rush it off, really think about what you are putting down and be very honest. They do a wonderful job of roommate matching, however, if you put down that you're very quiet and you really like to party and go to bed late you will not get the best match. Also, my son suggested even for Owl weekend don't put a 1 or 2 for how reserved you are, better to put a minimum 3 so that you don't get a host who sits in their room all the time. You will get a match for both on what you put down and you want to think about what you really mean.
They really are great for matching roommates. My son doesn't like to go to bed too late and his roommate doesn't either. They both like quiet to study, but they both have good senses of humor and similiar beliefs about things. Really nice match. This is their second year together and it's working out very well.

You can choose your roommate if you have a friend who will also be attending Rice and you request one another, but I really don't think that's normally the best course of action.
