Dorms?

mathey wasnt even far and away the most desired, because it had joline and campbell which aren't renovated, and its far from a lot of the campus. Rocky was highly desired because it was all renovated buildings, and was gothic. But they all have their pros and cons. I really enjoyed being in wilson and the proximity to everything.

By the way, ec1234, when do you suppose the slums will cease being the slums?

Well they were supposed to renovate henry last year, but they opened it so that the katrina students could live there, as well as some people off of the waitlist, and so I guess that it missed its turn? Generally though, I don't think that the slums are that bad. The rooms are large and the buildings are in okay shape. I just think that its what people call them, and thus they will always be the slums no matter when they get renovated. Joline and Campbell are in much worse shape, as are 1903 and Cuyler which aren't in the slums, but are actually top picked dorms (well now cuyler is part of butler, but anyway). Also, lots of seniors live in the "junior slums" due to the large rooms, especially the 3 room doubles/

Are the dorms air-conditioned?

Does each college have its own personality or are they pretty mixed up?

the newer dorms are airconditioned (all of whitman, bloomberg, scully) as well as forbes main inn. Other than that, no airconditioning.

there aren't really any personalities because its random who goes where, although the living situations create some personalities. Forbes is known to be more insular, perhaps due to the distance from campus. A lot of them are friends with each other, and a lot of them join quad as sophomores. Butler less social as there aren't suites for parties (im not saying that the people arent social, just the parties and stuff don't happen in butler, so you have to go further away to find them), although that may change with the addition of cuyler. WIlson, on the other hand, is one of the most social, due to the high number of suites with common rooms, and especially rooms like 211 Gauss and the 8 mans, and its also on the way to the street.

You can find anything anywhere though
