Dorms

I'm in McNutt now. If you want a place that smells funny and frequents 7-12 drunks daily this is it. There has been a moldy piece of pizza that some deranged alcoholic seems to have left in the hall several nights ago (that would have been Wednesday) the staff people refuse to pick it up, additionally someone clogged the toilet with toilet paper so now they refuse to provide us with toilet paper, several months back another alcoholic ripped the soap dispenser off the wall so we have no soap in the bathroom. Additionally, upon entering the bathroom the other day the floor seemed to be coated in sugar and was sticky beyond belief, 4 days later it still is. Prisons are kept in better condition than this place.

ok i would like a social atmosphere but that kindof is a bit over the top lol.
Which dorm had the Global Village again ?

Perhaps I should have mentioned the positive qualities, there is a small store where you can buy food and drinks to prepare in your room, it's about 40 yards from the farthest room, although they do charge ridiculously high prices as the university would appear to have monopolized upon their location. Where’s the government when we can use them? Talk about price gouging it costs $8 for a 12 pack of soda.

that's pretty crappy..... --> $8 for a 12pack
don't other halls have small stores aswell ??

I was looking at the campus map, and saw that the walk from Foster Quad, to the Woodburn and Goodbody halls, is quite long. Is it actually a walk worth walking ? I mean should i still consider Foster ? Or is it actually worth the walk, considering it's campus is one of the prettiest in the nation ?
thanks

Groen:

No one in NW walks, they are lazy freshmen who take the A bus up a hill 200 ft away. ;). Don't worry, just take the A bus, it will go all the way down to 3rd st, and it comes every THREE minutes (yes 3).

Sam

thanks damitssam,
i would have thought that everyone would walk everywhere, considering all the hype about Indiana's beatiful campus.
also i am from holland and wouldn't know what to do without a bike, is biking around also a possibility and do kids do it often ?

When I visited bikes were EVERYWHERE. I am bringing mine because parking is awful. I visited a friend in Bloomington over sring break and et me tell you, a nightmare. So yes I would suggest a bike.

oh ok. i love bikes :)

so umm i know i have asked this qustion before but i am feelling lazy so i will just ask again but when are dorm assignments and roommates found out?

shorty- On Friday, the Housing Office said they were starting to send e-mails to our IU e-mail accounts. I sent in my application for housing in mid-October and havent heard yet. I didn't sign up for a LC. They told me to give it another 2 weeks.
