Would someone be so kind as to recommend a dorm for me next year? I'm going to be an out of state freshman.

Preferably I would like:
-Air conditioning (wall units are fine)
-Suite style
-Don't mind if it's in South Campus but I would prefer to be closer to classes (maybe something in the north of South Campus)
-Nothing too "rowdy" in terms of party life, but definitely an option

I know there is no perfect residence hall and I could just look up the chart on the website, but I would also like to receive insight into the various social atmospheres. Thanks so much!

Yeah Morrison is your best bet, if you can get into morrison. Keep in mind that all seniors, juniors, and sophomores are assigned housing first.

yea carmichael is a good choice too, but i personally would go with morrison bc its convenient to ram’s head rec/cafeteria/market, dean dome. kenan stadium, and about 7-12 minutes to class

morrison, carmichael, teague/parker/avery (morrison’s technically on south campus, but the rest are on middle campus)

but seriously, living in the big south campus dorms like ehringhaus, HJ and craige is really NOT THAT BAD. i absolutely loved ehaus–it’s a 10-minute walk to class as opposed to 5, but it’s very social and provides the ultimate first-year experience. i’m still best friends with all my suitemates from last year.

I am almost positive that Ehaus and Craige are the only two dorms that lack air conditioning in every room at this point, so I would avoid requesting those two communities. Hinton James, where I live, is the absolute farthest dorm from campus, but it’s not bad by any means. The walk is really good for you!

i would recommend against craige…Hinton James (hojo) or Ehringhaus (e-haus) are both good choices…but I don’t think e-haus has a/c in all rooms yet.
