Hi, I’ve been accepted into BU CAS, and I have a few questions.

First of all, which dorms are which? Can someone who goes to BU just skim over what the advantages or disadvantages of certain freshman dorms are? Throw in which one you like best and why too plz.

Also, is Housing included in the tuition? I cant find a housing fee… thanks

I visited in May of last year and the (then sophomore) student said that Stuvi-2 (student village 2) was opening in fall 08. Its a newer version of stuvi-1 except its for underclassmen. Its apartment complex like, but just college kids and it has an awesome cafe/food place bottom floor.
If I go to BU, that's my top choice for dorming.
Senior and Junior year= those awesome brownstone-looking houses. Holy cr..ap. awesome.

hahaha ok, for cas: live in either warren or towers if you're looking for proximity. for cgs: live in west. other dorms that aren't primarily freshmen but have freshmen and sophomores and some juniors are: myles, shelton, and hojo which are in the vicinity of cas.

AliAngel, what's the best dorm for SMG? I'm considering Warren and Towers, but Warren looks more fun. Are there a lot of SMG people in Warren too?

I've heard that if you're in CAS, Warren is ridiculously close. It's also the craziest school with the mostly freshmen. Since if I go I'd most likely room there, I know that the rooms and bathrooms are both not the best at all. The experience is supposed to be beyond lively and make it really easy to meet tons of people. At the same time, they say that Warren never sleeps and often call it a zoo. So basically, it'd be a blast unless that type of thing really isn't for you. But if you want to live really close to CAS when it's snowing or pouring, you get that, potentially good views (unless you're facing the opposite tower), and basically everything imaginable from food, services, etc. in one building.

Of course, I've never lived there yet so this is basically all from here-say from reports, my friend that lives there now, and my own opinions about what it seems like!

warren is definitely close to smg, towers is directly behind it.

and lauren 591, you're generally right about warren. i had an absolute blast living their and made a TON of friends, most of whom are still some of my best friends 4 years later. i also met my boyfriend freshman year in warren, though we both lived on different floors. and 3 years later, :-D. warren towers, though the rooms are small and there's so many people, was the absolute best time of my life, and i HIGHLY recommend it.

oh sorry hanita! yes im sure there are lots of smg people in warren too. you'll kind of see all different majors all over warren since it does contain 1800 people.

haha sorry gmail!! You can live there next year....

Apartment style housing is available for Freshmen, but it's pretty rare. Put down on your housing app and you might get it. I'd recommend not living in one though...you'll probably be with an upperclassman, and unless you get lucky and that person is really nice and inclusive, you'll probably be on your own for making friends.

There are a couple honors dorms. One is a house on Bay State Road, another is a house on Carlton Street in South Campus. I think there might be an honors floor in one of the dorms, but I can't remember.

So are Honors dorms any good? I heard BU housing isn't very good in general, but I could be wrong. And I don't know anyone who actually goes there...
