Dorms!

I worked in Danielson and I didn’t feel the walk was far. That being said, the walk can get sketchy and lonely. The ends of the sidewalk also get icy in that area because no one bothers to do anything about it.

But ismashcorner, I also didn’t want to share a bathroom with my floor and that’s why I roomed in Hojo my first year. I have a real dislike of public showers. It just kind of grosses me out no matter if I know the bathrooms have been cleaned. Plus, my mom works for a university and she says it depends on the cleaning lady. Some ladies clean better than others. But Hojo wasn’t that bad. It’s really quiet unlike Warren, though. In Warren you meet a lot of people from your room pretty quickly and it’s very social. It’s not that people in Hojo are unfriendly but most of them are sophomores and juniors. They already have their own friends. Although, I did end up finding out a couple of my classmates lived in Hojo so that was good luck.

for the public bathrooms, are there like separate shower stalls? like is there any privacy?

I only remember from orientation when they stuck us in West, but yeah, you get a stall per person.

thanks for the help. I’m going to a open house session so I’ll take a look at the bathrooms if i get the chance.

This is what a typical Warren floor looks like: [Warren Towers 14 B](Warren Towers 14 B)

Just a quick question, two actually.

First, how many shower/bathroom stalls per floor on warren, specifically the management floor?

Second, did anyone try to submit the housing survey yet? I only put down three places out of the five they ask for and it won’t let me submit! I don’t want to put down west or someplace I don’t want to live in just to fit it since there might be a chance I get put in them. Please help!

Sorry, those weren’t really quick questions were they…

Anyway thanks in advance!

Go look at the photogallery in my previous post, that is the actual management floor. There are 3 toilet stalls and 3 showers. If you’re thinking about living on the management floor, I can assure you it is the best thing EVER.

Just put down five places anyway. You have to put down a choice for all the slots.

“The 7th floor has the biggest rooms.”

er…are we allowed to list which floor we would prefer? lol.

I’m not sure. The size of the room can vary but I know my roommate’s boyfriend (on the 4th floor) has a room half the size of mine. Plus, you can get a really good view of Fenway from the top floor if your window faces the right way. Oh, that too. The windows. The best windows are on the 7th floor. I used to live on the 3rd floor and those windows were awkward to open.

Well you’re allowed to write special requests on your housing survey, but there is virtually no chance they’ll meet your wishes… The 7th floor will be most likely already taken by sophomores, since the room size is a well known fact.

Hanita is right. But my neighbors are Freshmen so don’t give up! Sometimes friends end up rooming together but don’t have enough to fill a triple and there’s a spot open too.

eh, i’m not big into windows, anyways : P

haha, thanks for the informationnn. i think i’m leaning towards towers/hojo, at this point. i need to take a good read through that housing document, though.

The windows aren’t bigger, just easier to open. They let in more fresh air too. The lower floors have older, more awkward windows to open.

how much people are on a floor at warren? Do people need to wait to use the bathrooms in like the morning and at night?

44 per floor. I shower in what would probably be the prime showering time, and I can recall only several occasions when I had to wait for a shower. But that’s mostly because I’m picky and I dislike the left-most shower for no apparent reason. I like the middle one. I’m 50/50 about the one on the right. I think it’s because of my OCD. Umm yeah.

Don’t worry Hanita. I do that too. I have a stall I prefer in certain bathrooms. >_> It’s not weird. It’s just my favorite one… I dunno I just like having things me way. :D

which would be the best dorm for a CAS student? and i’d prefer to have a private bathroom too.

Would I miss out much if I stayed somewhere else, say Hojo, Towers or Shelton, other than Warren and still make it to the orientation day? I’m an international student so the orientation on august 28th is mandatory. What I mean is, will I suffer socially if I choose somewhere other than Warren?

which dorms have personal sinks?
