dorms

i cant decide between brown and prosser. are you allowed to switch dorms during the year if you really dont like it? or is that hard to do

My D was in Prosser freshman year. If she had turned in her housing earlier she would have chosen Brown. It is much quieter and cleaner.

And, if there is a serious problem with a roommate they will move someone, but not just because they don’t like the dorm they are in. And if they move you, it would be to any open room, not necessarily in the dorm you want.

I pretty much lived in both of those dorms my freshman year (my actual room was in Brown, but my boyfriend lived in Prosser, as did most of my friends). So: Brown is boring but really nice. The rooms are gigantic, and the building is bright and has nice bathrooms. You’ll get really close to the girls on your hall, but nothing exciting ever really happens. The upside of that is that it’s really quiet, so if you need quiet to study and like to study in your room, pick Brown- do NOT live in Prosser.

Prosser is kind of disgusting, tbh, but it’s a lot more fun. There’s always something going on. Of course, it’s pretty loud in there most of the time, so take that into consideration. You might want to consider Prosser Annex. It tends to be slightly quieter, and if you’re in the basement your room will be huge.

thank you!

also i was wondering, if i sent in my housing form already but i didnt request a roommate on it, can i still request one later?

Pretty sure you can. Just call the Office of Residential Services and tell them, and have the person you want to room with do the same.

I’m in Brown this fall and I have a triple comprised of a “main” room and two bedrooms… Does anyone know what this will be like?
