double CC

hey guys, i am a computer eng. student at a community college and my goal is to transfer to one of the UC schools. Due to my work schedule i have to take my math course(s) at a different community college (the one closer to work). Would it make any negative effect if I attend two community colleges at same time and take all of my math courses at one college
(24 units) while taking all the other courses at another community college?

Thanks for the help.

assuming you’re a student at a California CC, there is a transfer center at your CC’s. They should be able to help you. They either know the answer, or if not they have people they can contact at UC schools.

BTW you should also look into the guarantee admission programs. These may not be your preferred campuses, but you can still apply everywhere you want knowing that if your top choices don’t take you then you’ll at least be going to a UC campus. See http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/guarantee/index.html</a> as a starting point.

thanks for the great info…yes i am a california cc student… i rectally talked with transfer center and they werent very helpful. Only concern I have is would UC schools schools have any problem with me attending two CC colleges? I will try talking with them again . again thanks for the quick reply.

if your transfer center is not helpful then you might want to contact 2 or 3 UC campuses that you are considering directly to ask. Also take a look at the bulletin board at your CC’s; the UC’s send reps out periodically to CC’s so that would also be an opportunity to get your question answered directly by a UC staffer. Best of luck to you!
