Double Degree at Oberlin

Hi y'all!

I'm a student at Armand Hammer United World College (uwc-usa.org) in NM, and in the midst of college craziness. From all I've learnt about Oberlin, it seems to be the school for me. I'm applying to some rather competitive music conservatories around the country for voice performance, but I also have a lot of other interests - politics in particular. Therefore I'm thinking about doing a double degree at Oberlin. However, it would be nice to learn more about this. I know how it works, but how is it actually like to be a DD? How is the work load? How many classes do one take a semester/term? Is it worth it? And within politics/int'l relations, what can one do as projects? Internships?

Some background:
Norwegian
Soprano (with a voice that takes time to develop, possibly dramatic soprano)
Active with politics in Norway since the age of 14
Wants to study music and politics/int'l relations
Studies the IB at a UWC - international scholarship-funded school in New Mexico
Decent grades (36/38 of 42 in predicted), aka school is usually not a problem
Way too many extracurriculars, mostly within music, but also dance, recording studio and LGBTQ group

This is not to brag, and hopefully it doesn't seem like it either. I just want to know whether people survive a double degree, and how it is like. Any info on BM and/or BA in politics/int'l relations at Oberlin is also highly appreciated.

A number of the Oberlin blog posts by Will Mason address his experiences as a double-degree student:
