double depositing?

Should I double deposit just in case my dream school rescinds me or cuts my scholarships because of grades or something?

With that said, if I send a deposit to school A right now, but after the May 1 deadline, I became more interested in school B, is it too late to send the deposit to school B after the deadline. Will school B still accept me?

Hey, why not? That way you’ll get to find out if they share admission information with your other school, because if they do then both schools will rescind you.

That’s just stupid. Double depositing because your senior year grades might ■■ you over… Why not just get your grades up and not worry?

Do NOT double deposit! If either colleges find out, they can and will rescind you immediately. The only possible “excuse” that is acceptable after May 1st is if you’re offered a position off a waitlist. That is the ONLY acceptable reason, and even that doesn’t fly well.

Remember, do not burn your bridges! It’s possible you might want to consider one of those colleges as a transfer or for graduate school. You’ve had all month, at least, to decide which college you want to attend. Decide and move on. If you are worried about your grades, stop fussing and get to work.

I like mikemac’s sarcasm…

I was accepted to a great University for the spring of 2011 and plan on going, and others ive talked to with the same situation plan to go to a different University for the first fall semester, and so do I, so i need to say yes to both universities by May 1 and then transfer to the other school in January, is that still considered double depositing?

The college you were accepted to in the spring almost certainly has a clause somewhere saying that you cannot attend a different college in fall 2010. Make absolutely sure that I’m wrong there before you do that.
