<p>Would it be a huge benefit to double major in accounting and Business Info Tech. I want to get into auditing (ACC). The two majors are in the same school, so the lower division requirements are exactly the same.. </p>
<p>Does anyone with experience think that doing this would pay off as far as job prospects?</p>
<p>Would it be worth the tons of extra work I would have to do?</p>

<p>no, BIT does not have anything to do with accounting. if your school offers an accounting informations class, you should take that because that is the type of knowledge you will need when you go into auditing. </p>
<p>auditors are required to understand the internal controls over financial reporting when they are on an assurance engagement. the AIS class will definitely be an essential class to take. other than that, take auditing/advanced accounting/tax/acct information systems, and you should be a well-rounded canidate for a big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm.</p>
