I am a junior in high school, so do not have final grades/ all test scores/etc.
However, I have a 4.0 UW at one of the better public schools in the country and I am in the IB program. Have always taken the most challenging classes possible. Have not received IB test scores or math and literature SAT IIs, but I received a 5 on the AP Chemistry test and an 800 on the Chem SAT II. 33 composite on the SAT after taking it once (I feel like I could definitely get a higher score if I took it again but not sure if it’s worth it).
In terms of extracurriculars, I am a captain of the Track and Field team, throw the discus, and am also the president of the largest service organization at school. I am I nterested in studio arts and my extracurriculars and classes reflect this. However, I have not won any national awards, my school does not do rankings, etc.
I feel like I have the additional advantage that not many people from my school apply to Dartmouth and I am not the stereotypical Dartmouth student- I am very liberal, “hippie,” social justice involved, vegan, etc. and it seems like they are constantly trying to diversify their student body (however, I’m also an overachieving, middle class white girl, so that may not help in the diversity area haha). Finally, both of my parents went there. They are not donors in any significant sense, but when I met the admissions officer at an info session they ended up talking to him and really getting along, sharing stories about their respective experiences.
Anyway, thank you if you read all of that! What are my chances of getting in early decision and regular decision? Thanks so much!
Just wanted to add that I am not involved in hundreds of extracurriculars like many others, but I feel that I am very involved in the ones in participate in. Also possibility that I will be a National Merit Scholar or at least finalist. Apologies if I sound obnoxious but I want to give a full view of myself!
