both my dad and grand-dad went here. if im not mistaken my grandfather actually was a professor here or something.

i wasnt planning on applying to any top 30 school let alone an ivy until i remembered this fact.

lets say i can get my gpa up to a 3.6 uw from a top5 HS in my state (mo)

lets also say i can get a 32 on the act or some comparable sat score. i will get a 210 probably on the psat and national merit finalist or w.e

also my ecs are decent but nothing special, a few leadership positions though.

okay i highly doubt those stats are good enough esp. with that gpa, but if by some incredible magic it is good enough, what are my chances if say my gpa was even lower, something like 3.5 or even (gasp) 3.4?

oh also i read they do a bit of recruiting for sports so i was wondering if i might apply for that. 4 yr varsity wrestler with hopefully 1 yr state champion or atleast close. i dunno if thats good enough for the level at which they recruit for.

im a junior so ive still got a year for that...i think? but anyways i edited in the wrestling part last minute, i doubt im at the level they are looking for nor do i even want to wreslte in college unless its the only way to get in. so if someone could look at the stats with and without the wreslting part and at different gpa levels. ive done some searching but i cant find any stats for average applicant gpa's and stuff like that. and i dont know how much being from a good HS will play into that either so....

Well, everything I've read states that legacy counts most in UPenns ED round and they really like to take kids ED because it shows they want to be there.Your stats will be whatever they will be so apply and see. If you can't afford to pay for it though.... forget the whole ED thing.

okay well money will be a problem but it would be hard to turn down penn so im sure i could figure out a way.

anyways ive done some more research and found that i absolutely am nowhere close to qualifying for D1 recruitment. and im guessing D1 is all that matters in which case im SOL for any extra wrestling points.

Penn got the top high school wrestler in the country this year in one of the light weight classes. You need to be nationally ranked for them to be interested.
