Double Major: A Good or Bad Idea?

<p>Hello all,</p>

<p>I am currently a junior in high school, but I have begun to think (deeply, at times) about what I want to major in for my Bachelor's of Science degree in college. I definitely want to major in Meteorology, but I have also developed a deep interest in mathematics lately. I have thought about minoring in math, but it just doesn't seem like a minor would be sufficient to become a teacher or something. So, I have considered completing a double-major while in college, in Meteorology and Mathematics. Is this a good or bad idea?</p>

<p>Depends on who is paying for all this. Double majors can be prohibitely expensive.</p>

<p>do you want lots of freedom in classes? this is especially important if there are strict ge/distribution requirements. You don't have a lot of choices in classes outside of ge/distribution, basically all math and meteorology. Also, are you sure about this, or is this just on impulse?</p>

<p>I am a double major, and my experience has been extremely rewarding. If you can do it and still graduate in four years, go for it!</p>

<p>if there were clear black & white differences, then your answer you have already been established. But you're not the first one to make this decision...in fact, millions before you have been faced with it, and guess what? There's still no clear cut answer because it all depends on WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU!</p>

<p>oh... and you're a junior in high school... don't even worry about a major, much less a double major right now. Experiences change you.. that's why so many people end up switching their major 1000 times over.</p>
