I applied to Berkeley for the Astrophysics program and haven't heard yet, but assuming i get in, what do you think the possibility of getting into the MechE major as a double would be? I know the whole engineering department up there is super compacted, would i have any priority as an enrolled student? Thanks for the replies.</p>
<p>As a transfer, I doubt you'll be able to finish engineering and another major.</p>

<p>okay, aside from the difficulty of the actual workload (i know)... what do you think the chances of actually getting into the MechE program once I'm in? I want an engineering degree, so I'd be upset if I go up there for Astrophys and don't get into the MechE program. Do you think it's easier to get in as a double major once i'm already there? I know it's going to be hard as ****... but I'm willing. Thanks.</p>
<p>Would you have ALL your major prep done? I think running into a unit limit would be a serious concern. I really have no idea how tough it would be to get into the ME program, but you should make sure that it's possible to even do once you get there.</p>
<p>I'd be missing ONE course--of those offered by my community college. Obviously there are other courses i'd be missing that my CC doesn't offer. What is the unit limit? do you know? </p>
<p>Also, I did email someone at Cal who said it is "possible" but, I'm more curious about how hard it would be, and whether or not it'd be easier to get into MechE once already there. (again, not how hard the workload would be, but how hard it'd be to get in)</p>
