double major astrophysics & comp sci

i've been thinking about this lately. do you think it would be doable? i really want to work for nasa (not as an astronaut, obviously) when i grow up. i'm in cs right now.

i'd have to take 16-20 unit semesters every semester till i graduate, and they would be HARD units, in pretty much completely unrelated fields.

but like, you're supposed to try to get the most you possibly can out of college, right? maybe this is just suicide, though.

of course it is possible...you will be taking very difficult classes especially in upper division, you won't have too much time for anything else. Unfortunately those two majors have very few (if any!) courses that overlap, so you'd be taking 4-5 very difficult classes every semester.

It's certainly worth trying for. You can always adjust your plans as time goes on. You probably don't need the double major. Astrophysics with a lot of computer courses is going to be enough for whatever you want to do, the double major isn't necessary.
