Double major at Queens (canada)

I´ve been looking but I don´t know if there is the possibility to double major at Queen´s in Canada. Does anybody know?

You can double major in most subjects, except Queen’s calls them “medials”, which I think are around 7 credits each. So a double major (double medial) would be 14 of the total 20 credits you need to graduate with a Queen’s degree.

I dont quite understand, this is what I just found:

No. It is not possible to take more than one major in the same degree.

You may be able to do a medial degree in the two concentrations you are interested in. A medial is an honours-level concentration that is slightly less intensive than a major, and it must be paired with another medial in a different area of study, allowing for a balanced and complementary honours degree with concentrations in two different subjects. For a list of possible combinations, please see the Degree Programs at a Glance section of the Arts and Science Course Calendar.

Being an international student I dont quite difference the meaning of major and degree, and the thing abou medials; can you make a major plus a medial?
thanks

Queen’s has three types of programs: major, minor, and medial. Major and minor are in the same sense as in the US, but since a double major is infeasible at Queen’s, they have the medial, which has a few less requirements (credits) than a major so that you can do two. I don’t think you can do a major and medial, but you can do either a double medial or a major and minor.

Edit: A major is your program of concentration and can be combined with other types of programs (which you focus on less by not taking as many classes/credits in) such as a medial or minor. A degree is what you earn after completing the requirements for your program(s) of choice and any other general requirements at the university, while maintaining a decent GPA. An Associates, Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate are all types of degrees. You’ll be earning a Bachelors at Queen’s.

that was of great help! thanks!

Sorry to make it a bit more complicated, but in case you are interested, at Queen’s you can also get a DUAL degree (two different degrees):
