How hard is it to double major at UNC? Double major and a minor?

It depends on the majors and how many AP/IB credits you bring in with you.

Some programs (particularly in the professional schools) are relatively intensive and so double majoring between a professional school and the College of Arts and Sciences is possible but challenging.

Double majoring within the College of Arts and Sciences is very possible. I know a good number of people who are double majoring. A double major and a minor is certainly possible, as well, especially if you are bringing in some AP/IB credit - although at some point I’d worry about having such a set structure of what classes you would need to take that you would be unable to take random courses just for the intellectual enjoyment of them.

Would a double major in com sci and business be tough? Can one minor in business at UNC?

Information regarding majoring and minoring in business:

[UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School : Application Process](http://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/bsba/admissions/assured-admission-program.cfm)

Anyone know how difficult it is to double major in a science and humanities? Particularly biology and philosophy, I know philosophy only requires 9 courses to get the major but then the biology has a lot of requirements plus many of the classes must be taken in a certain order.

Thanks for any advice. : )

Again, that particular combo would be pretty doable, especially with AP Credit. Biology has 9 classes beyond the intro classes, 3 core bios, 3 chems, 4 upper level bios, and 2 physics. Like I said, challenging but doable. I’m double majoring in Biology and Environmental Science, and I should be able to get everything done in 4 years here, but my AP Credits definitely helped.

i got accepted EA for UNC and I know that I want to double major in Business and History. Assuming I go there and get into the Kenan-Flagler, do you think it is realistic to be able to double major in those subjects?

thanks!

The best thing to do is to go to Advising. unc. edu and looking at the “academic worksheets” link. Those have all of the classes you need for each major. Then, just make a simple excel file with room to write out what classes you’d need to take each semester.

– I’ll add though, the history major is very, very easy to complete, so as long as you take 1-2 history classes per semester, you’re golden.

I am currently double majoring in Peace, War, and Defense and Political Science(which are practically the same degree thus making double majoring and cross listing easy) and minoring in Economics. I would say over all it is easy to double major at UNC even with totally opposite majors. The only problem comes when double majoring in say Biology/Chemistry where you are doing so many labs and etc it really cuts into your social life. Also Business can be difficult to double major with as well because of the sequencing of courses. Over all though double majoring is almost always possible and recommended advising here at UNC really pushes a cross related degree for a well rounded education.

What about double-majoring in business and global studies? I just got assured acceptance into Kenan-Flagler and I definitely think having such a great undergrad business degree should be taken advantage of. However, when I was considering other universities, I mainly thought of majoring in global studies because that is where my true passion is… I plan on getting an MBA after a few years of work experience, so I don’t know what exactly I should do. Would the work load be absolutely impossible? (I plan on doing a semester abroad and studying French as much as possible throughout college as well). I’m not saying I wouldn’t enjoy studying business because I think I would, I just wouldn’t want to sacrifice global studies…

Thanks!

Im looking to double major in Business and Computer Science. Is that doable? Is there any warnings I should consider? Do you think it would be better to major in Computer Science then minor in Business?

Any help would be much appreciated.
