So, I'd really like to major in Political Science/International Affairs, and add Economics or Finance in there with a double major. I'm a senior in High School and have been doing well in my AP Economics/ Government class, so I understand the basic stuff. Anyways, is this a good idea? I've heard mixed reactions on job prospects for Poly Si majors and Economics is so diverse its hard to get a good feel for the job market. I know finance is desired, but I'm not sure I'd like working at a bank (stereotype I know) or in places like one. Any help is appreciated! I know its early, but I'd like to get all of this figured out, at least before I go to college and (probably) change my mind like everyone says.

There’s always the non-profit sphere. Working on more altruistic projects. They still need their finances in order and any investments working for them.

Few careers except for perhaps healthcare are a sure bet right now. Things could be a whole lot better in 4 years, just the same or (hopefully not), worse than now.

We all make a leap of faith going to college and then picking a major. But you can change your major so if you’re torn between a few, so long as your college offers them, you have a safety net.

Also, a major which also gives you certification or contributes towards certification in a field e.g. accounting might give you a bit more piece of mind. Indeed, accounting is very flexible in terms of work environment and you might be able to double major too.
