Double major/ dual degree question?

Hello there! I'm super new to this website. I literally just made an account to ask this question. Please help!

I'm starting my senior year of high school and so within the next few months I'm going to start applying to colleges. I really want to go to a top school, or an ivy league. I have a scholarship that will literally cover any school so money is not an issue.

I have a lot of ideas already but I am really hoping to go to a school where I can enter into a program to major in both sociology and marine biology (or zoology). At most universities, those majors are within the same school, so I can double major in them. At some schools, however, like University of Miami, they are in separate schools. I believe I can still double major, but I'm also strongly considering a dual degree. Meaning, I get two completely separate degrees at one time, instead of one degree with two majors.

Do you suggest double majoring or a dual degree program? And, which prestigious schools offer these programs (I know almost all schools offer double major, but most schools with dual degree you have to major in one of the options they have a program for).

USoCal offers Renaissance Scholars program, where they actively encourage studying diverse fields and dual degrees. Their website is USC.edu. I’m just a bit confused–you want a dual degree because ???

Usually passions drive actions instead of I want a dual degree, now let me think of two fields I like.

Oh, thanks so much! And it’s not that I want a dual degree particularly. I just want to study both sociology and marine biology at the same time, and dual degree seems like the best way to do that since I will be able to get two separate degrees.
