I recently got admitted direct admission to Kelley for Finance. Is there any way I can double major with computer science since I am interested in that also. Additionally, would I need to email the school now or is this something I have to do once I go to the school?
Kelley has a lot of requirements to graduate, and it looks like computer science is similar, so I think this would be very difficult. If you aren’t bringing in a ton of AP credits, it’s probably impossible to do in 4 years. Even if you are, I’m still not sure you could do it. One option is adding an analytics or technology management double major. Both of those majors are offered through Kelley and would be very easy to add to finance.
I think you’re probably going to have to decide between Kelley and computer science, but you could contact the Kelley advising office first. I’m not an advisor, but it seems like too much to fit in based on the listed requirements.
Doubling outside of Kelley is tough and they won’t make it easy. When my D was considering IU, they activelg discouraged her from a double major in another college that was the very reason she applied to IU. And she would have had most of her gen eds completed through AP. It was a real turn off. She chose to go elsewhere where it’s easier to double and triple major/double degree. Talk to Kelley admin and see what they say about your proposal.
