Double Major From Two Different Schools?

I was wondering if you can double major from two different schools at Penn if you weren't admitted to Huntsman or M&T or Vagelos, etc... because if you can, then there really is no point of any of those dual degree programs.

Yes, it's called a dual degree. You have to meet certain requirements to add the second degree and you can't apply until the end of freshman year.

And yes, there is a point to being in a joint degree program. They waive some requirements, you are in two schools from the very beginning, you get a program-specific advisor, you're in an honors program (which gives you preference for honors classes), companies recruit specifically from your program, and you get extra perks like having a network of similarly smart and interested people and free printing.
