I know finance would be a good double major to have in combination with accounting, but i was wondering what would be another good choice. i'm about to take intro to finace and intro to mis this upcoming fall semester. but i was reading about the mis major and it sounds interesting to me. is a double major in accounting and mis a good choice, like is it practical?

VERY practical.

Google Accounting Information Systems.

I get the feeling that the “reading” people have done is that the MIS major has become the highest entry-level salary for most business schools in the past year."

haha, it’s funny cuz i didn’t even read about the starting salaries, but after i posted this thread i saw what some people were saying here about the high starting salaries. i’ve just always had an interest in using technology and computers but i don’t really know much about programming and stuff but it seems like something i’ll want to learn about.

I agree with pls. It would be the best choice you could make as a double major.

I’m considering to double major in MIS & Informatics, as the University of Washington offers both. I have seen a lot of member mentioning MIS & Accounting double major. So which one is better ? (I’m not into auditing after all)

Due to rapid growth of the accounting field, to compete, i feel alot of people (including myself) are trying to add something with there accounting to stand out and become more marketable.

From what i learned this MIS is the best thing to add with it, over accounting info systems(AIS), info systems and audit controls(ISAC) etc. But possibly better than throwing in IT education is specializing in something like tax.

Im now at the point where im trying to choose which route to take. Lack of experience is fueling my indecisiveness. I would really like some insight on the idea of doubling up, specializing for a MAcc Tax and a Bach in MIS, how does that sound? I call it the best of both worlds lol, sounds unstoppable to me.
