Double Major in Chemistry and Engineering Physics

Before i went to college, my main goal was to learn as much as possible, now i'm a college sophomore who is currently majoring in Chemistry. I started off as a Engineering Physics major with a Chemistry Minor. I minored in chemistry because I enjoyed Chemistry in high school and i wanted to continue with it once i got into college. Last semester, i decided to completely switch to a Chemistry major. I took Organic Chemistry last semester and i thoroughly enjoyed it even though i'm more of a math person. Before i continue, i failed to add that i also have a huge interest in astronomy so i took some classes as well and i enjoy those classes too.

Now i'm in a dilemma, as much as i love chemistry, i don't want to work(have a career) working in a lab. So i've been thinking about adding engineering physics as a second major and hopefully after college i will have a steady job. With that said, it is doable to double major in both chemistry and engineering physics with a minor in astronomy??

My long term goal is to become an astronomer either astrochemistry or astrophysics. I've also thought about getting a masters in chemical engineering, that way i could have steady job and i could work on pursuing astronomy on the side.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Of course you can two a double major but don’t spend too much extra time in college. If you have a lot of AP credit and can complete both programs in a reasonable time, go for it. Don’t worry now about a graduate program, just try to get involved in research so you can decide whether graduate school is for you. With a bit of experience you should be able to make a decision about what path to take.
