Double Major in Computer Science and Cybersecurity

Hello all,
I was wondering what the overall effectiveness of a double major in Computer Science and Cybersecurity would be. I have went back and forth between both areas of study for some time now. Difficulty does not really concern me, unless if the course load would be ridiculously overwhelming. I will be attending SEMO (Southeast Missouri State University) on a full tuition scholarship, so the issue of keeping my GPA above 3.5/4.0 will eventually arise. In my understanding, there will be quite a bit of overlap in the courses for the majors of Computer Science and Cybersecurity, but would it actually be worth it to spend the time to receive both bachelor's degrees?
P.S. - The Computer Science program at SEMO IS accredited by the ABET.
Answers are much appreciated,

anyone?

I don’t think it’s worth spending the time doing both degrees. Computer Science is a very broad degree, and that title alone will open up a lot of doors for you. Cyber security is a very closed industry (if you consider jobs in the private sector), and unless the curriculum is highly mathematical and includes cryptography, I wouldn’t bother spending my time on it.

I don’t see the point of doing both. Just add some of the security courses for your electives if that is an area of particular interest. Keeping gpa above 3.5 for CS to keep a scholarship is a pretty tough way to go. Make your schedule carefully and balance the load.

Thank you, I appreciate your answers.
