Double major in CS and Psych to pursue career in AI? Help please!

I’m currently a psych major but I feel like I am not stimulated by my coursework enough. I’ve decided I’d like to pursue a career in AI and was wondering what move would be best for me… Double majoring, or changing my major completely and taking on psych as a minor. I would rather not go to grad school. Also, I’m going into my second year of school this fall. Would I be able to get a job out of school in this field with a CS bachelors? Or is grad school necessarily to pursue AI?

The short answer is very much yes. For AI, grad school would probably help more than in the software engineering field, and AI jobs are not going to be as plentiful simply because it’s a more narrow application of CS.

I would highly recommend the double major if it’s offered. If it isn’t, I think a CS major with a Psych minor would be good as well.

Note: AI classes will take some time to get to in the CS curriculum. Probably at least two semesters of classes, if not more. It may be a good idea to try a CS class or two before declaring officially.
