double major in engineering and archaeology

Double major in engineering and archaeology…
Do you think it’s a good idea?
They are totally two different majors and I’m sure that none of the requirements for each major will overlap. so it’s going to cost much more, isn’t it?
Also, all my ECs and SAT II are math or science-related.
Any suggestions?

Oh, and I also have another question.
I have three rec. letters from math/computer science teacher, calculus teacher, and biology teacher. Is it too many from the same subject? I also have an rec. letter from my English teacher, but I knwo that it’s not as good as the other three becuase I’m an international students and I hardly talked in that class.

Thanks in advance!

I like double-majors and my D is doing Math/Government. If you check around the Law School forum, look up AriesAthena, who double majored in Engineering and Classics and now is in Law School.

It's doable. But doubling Engineering with anything is difficult and my concern about archaeology is that at some point you'll have field work options that conflict with engineering internships and the like.

If I were on an adcom, I'd prefer to see recs from completely different subjects...some colleges are explicit about this.

Good luck.
