double major in government and aem

i'm in the college of arts and sciences and have declared majoring in government...is there anyway i could double major in aem as well without leaving arts and sciences?

No. You aren’t allowed to double major across different undergrad colleges at Cornell. Your best bet would be to go for the double major in government and Econ within CAS.

Patlees88 is correct, and a common double major is Econ/Gov. As a rising sophomore, you should know this info! You can take some of your elective classes in AEM if the courses interest you.

Yes he/she is not allowed to double major, but isn’t he/she allowed to get something called a dual-degree? I know a few people who are doing a dual degree in the engineering school and the arts school. I don’t know if its allowed between arts and CALS. You can look into whether it is or not… but the basic idea is that you need to fulfill all of the requirements from both schools, and then you’ll get two degrees. But, It takes five years sometimes.

yeah you would end up paying for an extra year or two to get the required aem courses…

a good alternative is to get an AEM un-official minor which would consist of intro to business management, statistics, financial and managerial accounting, finance, marketing…

Dual degree is only through some of the private colleges with only certain combinations. CAS and Engineering, AAP and Engineering and AAP and CAS maybe…something like that. There are only a few combinations. Search dual-degree on Cornell’s web site and they’ll direct you.
