Double Major in Human Biology and Chinese studies and minor in psychology?

I am planning to go to pharmacy school after UCSD. Human Biology is something I am extremely interested in and Chinese studies is just something I have to do because of heritage but it also interests me. My future career consists of going to China/Taiwan/ HongKong/ Singapore. Which is why I want to double major in Human Biology and Chinese studies. But then that will only be 3 classes a quarter. (I plan to stay for 5 years) should I minor in psychology too? Since it also fascinates me and it can supplement my future career in the medical field. But is this too wide spread?? (like I am doing to much but that doesn't mean i am an expert at it...) Help??

You’re being forced into Chinese Studies? Ouch.

If you’re going pre-pharm, you won’t get enough preparation with just Human Bio, so you’ll be taking a few extra courses (P-Chem sequence minimum).

Also, if you’re going into Pharm, psych won’t help you since the classes here mostly do with theory and not psychopharmacology.

O.O and i thought i was too extreme…(i am planning to double major in pharmacy and econ)

eh…the thing is…with my chinese studies major i took 6 upper division chinese language courses which counts for 6 of the 12 UD needed. Which technically cuts the number of classes i still need to take in half.

What is the P Chem sequence minimum?

two quarters (chem 126 + 127)

Oo…Whats a good minor for pre-pharm kids then?

I was planning psychology…but I guess not. I’m kinda forced to take a minor because I took too many AP classes, and so I need classes to fill up the units needed. Suggestions?

How bout just taking classes you’re interested in that serve no real purpose?

I took a freshman seminar on learning to play the ukulele. thumbs up (Are they still offering that class?)

A minor for the sake of having a minor? Why?

It doesn’t even show up on your diploma.

If you’re going to take the classes anyway, then do it–but that’s it.
